Growth From Giving
yì · Wind over ThunderUse this good stretch to lift someone besides yourself.
The moment favors action. What flows down from those who have more lifts everyone. Set out on your plans and cross the great river while wind and thunder are with you.
The six lines
This is a good time to take on a great work. Serve something larger than yourself, and it can go very well, with no blame.
Help may come unasked, and even a costly tortoise oracle could not refuse it. Stay steady for the long haul, like a king thanking heaven.
Even hard events can add to you if met honestly. Walk the middle path and report plainly, like one bearing jade before a duke.
Walking the middle path, you speak and the leader listens. People can rely on you for big moves, even one like relocating a capital.
True kindness needs no oracle; it is deeply good. Give sincerely, and others may come to value and return your goodness.
No one adds to you, and someone may strike. A heart without constancy invites this. Take care, and settle what you stand for.
The I Ching is a tool for reflection. Do not use it as the basis for medical, legal or money decisions.
