A home runs well when each person keeps an honest, steady role, and the text names the woman of the house as its anchor. Order and warmth at home reach far beyond the door.
The six lines
Set clear household boundaries at the very start, while things are calm. Agreements made early can spare you a lot of regret.
No grand projects here. You work at the center of the home, seeing that people are fed. Quiet, faithful care is the right work.
A strict home can feel harsh, yet it tends to hold together. Endless giggling with no limits ends in embarrassment. Lean toward firmness.
The home flourishes. Caring well for what you share and keeping it in good order is a deep source of good fortune.
The king comes into the home as one of the family. Lead through affection rather than force, and you need not worry; this can go well.
Sincerity and dignity together earn lasting respect. Be someone your household can trust, and over time this tends to end well.
The I Ching is a tool for reflection. Do not use it as the basis for medical, legal or money decisions.
